Spring Clean Your Brand (Even If You Just Started One)

6 Things I’m Doing to Build my business with Clarity from Day One.
Spring is about fresh starts and I’m deep in one.
VURV is just a few weeks old. No clients yet. No big splashy launch. Just me, a big vision, and a brand I’m building with intention, not urgency. And since it’s the first day of spring (and alignment is kind of my love language), I’m using this season to check in with myself and my brand in progress.
This isn’t about “rebranding.” This is about real-time refinement.
Here are 6 things I’m intentionally “spring cleaning” as I lay the foundation for my business and if you’re early in your own business or brand journey, these might be worth stealing.
1. Getting Brutally Clear on What VURV Is (and Isn’t)
When you’re in early-build mode, wanting to do everything for everyone is tempting. But I know better. So I’m narrowing in, getting sharper, and defining the edges of this studio:
What VURV does
Who it’s for
What we don’t do (no vibes-only design, no brand soup)
Your turn:
If someone asked what your brand does in one sentence, could you answer clearly? If not, that’s your starting point.
2. Keeping My Messaging Honest, Even If It’s Not “Big” Yet
I’m not pretending to be booked out. I’m not hiding the fact that this is new. But I am showing up like the expert I already am because I’ve been doing brand strategy behind the scenes for years.
VURV might be new, but my voice is seasoned. I’m writing everything from my bio to my service pages like I’m talking to real humans, not playing dress-up as a “real business.”
Your turn:
Go reread your website or social bios. Are you speaking from where you are, or trying to sound like someone else? Start where you are. Own it fully.
3. Doing a Quick Visual Vibe Check
My brand identity is still fresh, but I’ve already tweaked colors, restructured some layouts, and sharpened the hierarchy in my visuals. Because even when you just launched, things evolve fast.
Your turn:
Take 15 minutes and scroll through your site or social feeds. Are your colors, fonts, and layouts consistent? Is anything giving “placeholder energy?” If so, tighten it up.
4. Building Structure Before Scale
No clients = no chaos. And I’m taking full advantage of that.
This spring, I’m documenting my processes, streamlining my tools, and setting boundaries early so I’m not scrambling to fix them later.
Your turn:
Even if you haven’t had your first client, draft your onboarding flow. Create a Monday taskboard. Map your packages and pricing. Future You will scream thank you.
5. Planting Content Seeds with Intention
Instead of scrambling to “post consistently,” I’m being strategic with my content pillars from the jump:
Brand education
Founder mindset
Creative behind-the-scenes
I’m not everywhere. I’m just building a trail of value breadcrumbs that lead people back to VURV.
Your turn:
Pick 2–3 content themes you want to be known for and stick to those. You’re building a reputation, not chasing algorithms.
6. Protecting My Why
The easiest time to forget your why is when you’re just starting, because everything feels urgent. So I’m keeping my goals visible. Literally. I wrote down what I want this studio to be, who I want to serve, and how I want to feel running it. That list is taped to my wall.
Your turn:
Write down what you want your brand to feel like, do for others, and create for your life. Then, align every move to that.
You Don’t Need a Rebrand, You Need a Realignment
Even new brands benefit from a check-in. Spring is the perfect moment to pause, ask if everything still feels like you, and course-correct while things are still malleable.
So, no. You don’t need a glow-up. You just need to get intentional.
And if you’re building a brand too?
I see you. I’m right there with you. Let’s make it clear, bold, and real from day one.
